In his 46 years as Hall of Fame Voice of the Philadelphia Eagles, client Merrill Reese has received many an award and recognition from Hall of Fames, football greats, and sports media legends. This past Sunday he received the latest honor.
In the winding moments of the 4th Quarter in a big win against the Pittsburgh Steelers, CBS’ Jim Nantz and Tony Romo heaped praise on Merrill and Mike, with Jim saying “it doesn’t get better than that,” and Tony jesting: “if you’re annoyed with me, which, sure, I think most people are right now, tune in over there.”
While Philadelphia has long known that Merrill is second to none in terms of his knowledge, passion, and unique ability to turn a phrase (“4th and Manayunk” was a personal favorite), it is great to see Merrill be celebrated by other broadcasting greats.
